Bang Tao is a slightly curved beach of 8km long, gently sloping from the pine trees in the back to the clear waters, and covered with a shining white sand. The constant breeze makes the Bang Tao beach very popular amongst windsurfers, and the bay hosts several international competitions each year. The northern part of Bang Tao bay, which is separated from the main beach only by a small river, is called Layan Beach and appears to be quite more peaceful than its big sisters. The main access to Bang Tao beach is the 2km road from Surin village. It is easy to find the beach as it is indicated by many large panels of the Laguna Phuket complex, which extends across the center of the bay.
This five stars luxurious complex makes the area look like a small seaside town. It comprises the Banyan Tree Resort, The Allamanda hotel, Dusit Lagun, and the Sheraton Grande Lagun Beach Resort. All these hotels are built on the same architecture model: low buildings that blend into the vastness of the landscape once occupied by tin mines.
The lake, which was once a mining area, has been converted into a beautiful lagoon which now serves as a center for water sports. Hence the touristic complex provides absolutely all the equipments, services and activities to spend holidays without leaving the complex. Guests can enjoy more many restaurants, spas and bars in addition to the services offered inside of the hotels.
The Laguna golf club, a beautiful beach, flowers everywhere, rock gardens, waterfalls: everything is beautifully designed and organized to provide holidaymakers a charming, quiet and peaceful stay in Phuket.
