Located 20 minutes north of Patong, Kamala beach once was a small fishing village. In recent years, the development of Phuket transformed Kamala as it opened its doors to many resorts, bars and restaurants of all kind. Eventhough the scene has changed a lot since the original fishermen village, Kamala remains a quiet place to stay for holidays.
Kamala Bay has two beaches. The main beach with its turquoise waters and 3.2km long white sandy beach. A little further south, the second beach is more isolated and faces the Kamala Beach Terrace. During high season, the sea is perfect for a calm bathing but during the Monsoon, check out the flags as currents can be quite strong.
During the day, activities and water sports are not missing on the main beach: water skiing, jet skiing, riding a banana towed by a speed boat, parasailing, kayaking or long tail boat trips are available. Of course, plenty of sun loungers and parasols are available.
In the evening, Kamala beach is a perfect place to dine on the beach. Depending on your mood, the village offers a wide selection of seafood, Thai food, Asian or European food restaurants.
After dinner, the Phuket Fantasea show presents an unforgettable spectacle, amusement and colorful shops. Fantasea is one of the biggest show in all South East Asia.
