Phuket Aquarium is located in Cape Panwa. There more than a hundred of fish species, many of them having their natural habitat in the waters around Phuket. The place also hosts the Marine Biological Reasearch Center which is the most important research station in Thailand.
The Aquarium itself is very well laid out, specially a long corridor in a transparent tube from where you will feel in the middle of a giant jar with sharks, rays and many other big fishes.
Amongst the other very interesting things to see, there are many colorful smaller fishes and species that live in Thailand’s coral reefs. Giant groupers are the world’s biggest coral reef fish and are impressive.
Every Saturday and Sunday between 11.00 and 11.30 hrs., you can watch divers feeding sharks. The Aquarium opens everyday between 8.30 and 16.30 hrs.
